10 wedding dress shops in Oxford worth exploring
For this week’s blog, I’ve put together a list of 10 wedding dress shops in Oxford that are worth exploring if you’re getting married in 2023 or 2024. When I say Oxford, I’m also including wedding dress shops in Oxfordshire.
In addition, and just to qualify, these are shops and studios that focus exclusively on selling or designing wedding dresses. I’m not including department stores or High Street fashion brands that also do lines in wedding dresses.
What is the average cost of a wedding dress in the UK?
Before I kick off my list, I thought I’d start by giving you some stats from the latest Hitched Annual wedding survey which is literally just out. According to the research, which surveyed 2400 couples in the UK, the average amount spent on a wedding dress in 2022 was £1350. Of course, that does mean that some couples will have paid more and others less but £1350 was the average.

About You Bridal – Price guide £495 – £2000
About You Bridal is a fairly new addition to the list of wedding dress shops in Oxford. It’s the only wedding dress boutique to offer drop-in appointments. It has quite a broad selection of designers but currently isn’t providing any details or images online. The reason I’ve included it in the list of wedding dress shops in Oxford is because it’s got some great customer reviews on Guides for Brides.

Bicester Bridal – Price guide £899 – £2500
It looks like lace is big in bridal for 2023. At least you’re going to find a lot of it if you’re shopping for wedding dresses in Oxford. Bicester Bridal has a big beautiful selection of lace detailed wedding dresses. It’s also got one of the best selections of bridesmaids dress I’ve found in Oxfordshire – some fabulous colours and designs.

For the widest selection of styles and skirt lengths from collections at wedding dress shops in Oxford, Butterfly Bridal Boutique is an excellent choice. I really like the elegance and simplicity of the Rosa Clara collection – it’s stunning; I’d love to photograph one of my 2023 brides wearing a Rosa Clara wedding dress.

Ellie Sanderson Bridal Boutique – Price guide £1950 – £4250
The Ellie Sanderson Bridal Boutique is one of the premium wedding dress shops in Oxford with designers I didn’t see anywhere else in Oxfordshire.
One of those designers is Chosen by KYHA, which has a stunning collection of minimalist creations, including – The Nile. Definitely not a style that would suit many figures – least of all mine – but certainly breath-taking if it suits you.

Rasha Kashou is a bespoke bridal wear designer in Oxfordshire. The company also has ready-to-wear designs from Gaia Bridal. Rasha was one of the few wedding dress shops in Oxford that offers a range of separates, including bridal trouser suits.

If you’re looking for wedding dress shops in Oxford that specialise in Pronovias, the Bridal Box has a generous selection, including some great deals on sample gowns from last season. For example, the Bette Pronovias, previously listed at £1790 was on sale at £800 at the time of writing this blog.
