Wedding Photos
How much time is needed to photograph a wedding?
Depending on the time of your ceremony, I usually find that eight hours will give you photography coverage from bridal preparations to your first dance. Some couples like to add an hour or two more for wedding photos in the evening celebrations, particularly if more wedding guests are expected.
How many wedding photos will I get?
From eight hours of wedding coverage, you can expect to get around 350 wedding photographs.
Which parts of the wedding do you photograph?
It’s really up to you what’s included in your wedding photography. However, a typical full day wedding photo plan from me would include detail shots of rings, flowers, shoes and dresses; documentary style photos of you getting ready; documentary photography of the ceremony, confetti tunnel and guests; group wedding photos and private portraits; candid photos of your wedding breakfast and any speeches; cake cutting pics; candid photos of your first dance and guests dancing; and finally, sunset portraits. If you’ve booked extra hours or you’re having an out-of-season wedding, this could include night portraits as well.
Do you take candid wedding photos?
90 percent of my photography on a wedding day is candid real moments. My style of photography is a mix of candid moments and editorial style portraits but if you’d prefer to have all candids, just let me know at the time of booking. I’ve got a few candids sprinkled throughout the galleries above.
Should we have an unplugged wedding ceremony?
My preference would be to say ‘yes’ but it’s really up to you. If guests are looking at the back of phone during your ceremony, they’re not really sharing the moment with you as a couple. I’ve also had a few occasions when guests have stepped out into the aisle to take photos on a phone and prevented me from capturing the official photos. Some wedding venues restrict all forms of photography during the ceremony so it’s worth checking in advance for your photographer, never mind the guests
How many group wedding photos can I have?
I’ll photograph the number of groups that you request but my recommendation is to limit the number of group photos you have to between six and eight max. Most guests don’t enjoy this part of the day and frequently disappear. In my experience, the quicker you can let guests relax and enjoy a drink, the happier they’ll be.
Can we have portraits taken of our guests?
I’m happy to take House and Garden-style guest portraits and mini groups if that’s what you’d like. I can’t guarantee 100% coverage because guests will sometimes refuse or just run away when they see a photographer but I’ll invite as many guests as I can to have a portrait for your wedding album, if that’s what you’ve requested.
Do you offer professional retouching of blemishes?
All of your wedding photos will be adjusted for exposure, brightness, colour balance, contrast and sharpness as part of my standard packages. For an additional fee, I can also provide professional retouching of blemishes, digital manipulation and artistic finishing if needed.
If you have any specific skin conditions you’d like me to take into account when photographing your wedding, please let me know at the time of booking.
Most people make the decision to have photos retouched after their wedding, particularly if they want to create an album or enlarge particular photographs.
Do you offer bridal boudoir photography?
If you’ve booked your wedding photography with me and would like to create a very personal gift for your groom, I can offer you a bridal boudoir session ahead of your wedding day. A typical session is about three hours long and provides you with your images in a private online gallery for download and viewing. Bridal boudoir sessions usually take place at your home. If you don’t have sufficient space to shoot in your home, we can arrange to book studio space but you will need to cover the cost of the studio time. For an additional fee, your images can be presented in a luxury printed album.
