Golden Hour
Bull Hotel wedding photographer
Lydia and Alex’s August wedding at the Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire
After a blistering hot summer, it was a relief to get a cooler day for Lydia and Alex’s wedding at the Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross. Before checking in with the couple, I wandered across the Oxford Road to Latchmoor pond to think about golden hour photos – which was something they were both keen to have. I was shocked to see how little water was left in the pond – it doesn’t look quite so pretty without water. Luckily, I had plenty of other ideas for Golden Hour portraits, which you can see if you scroll.
Lydia didn’t want a lot of bridal prep photos so I went in search of Alex first to capture a few pics with his bestmen before heading up to the bridal suite.
The wedding ceremony took place in the Bulstrode Suite, which has a beautiful outlook onto the south facing gardens of the Bull. Hotel staff organised a confetti line immediately outside the ceremony room so the couple could walk straight into the confetti.
Lydia and Alex were keen to capture a lot of family and group photos and luckily there was plenty of open shade where we were able to whip through these at a pace.
The wedding breakfast took place in the Thames Suite, followed by golden hour photos near Latchmoor pond and dancing back in the Thames Suite.
